Woman with diabetes bikes through Omaha in journey across America

She rolled through Omaha Wednesday and says one of her favorite parts is seeing sites on her bike that you would never notice in the car.

Imagine a doctor telling you you only have twenty years left to live.

It happened to one woman, but she's outlived doctor's expectations.

Tracy Herbert is biking across America to show that diabetes isn't slowing her down.

She started her journey at the golden gate bridge in San Francisco about a month and a half ago.

She rolled through Omaha Wednesday and says one of her favorite parts is seeing sites on her bike that you would never notice in the car.

"I want to inspire,” Tracy Herbert said. “I want to educate people and talk about diabetes because I don't want people to give up hope. But then also, just to say, ‘Hey, look! If this grandma can ride her bike this far, what's stopping you from reaching your dreams and your goals?’"

She plans to end her ride on the Brooklyn Bridge sometime next month.

She's almost reached 2,000 miles in her journey.
