Annual Omaha restaurant week kicks off this weekend
OMAHA, Ne (FOX42KPTM) -- Thousands of diners will be getting high priced meals for cheap deals and helping feed the hungry all at the same time. Omaha's annual restaurant week starts Friday and this year more than 60 restaurants are taking part.
The glasses are polished and the tables are set. There are empty tables at 801 Chophouse for now but Sarah Wallace says they won't be for long.
"If I could I would go try out a different one every night of the week," said Sarah Wallace, general manager at 801 Chophouse.
801 Chophouse is one of dozens of restaurants offering deals for Omaha restaurant week, which starts Friday.
"Our chef starts thinking of the menu two to three weeks in advance and just looking at what kind of produce we have from local vendors,” said Wallace.
Foodies can pay $20, $30, $40 or $50 for a full course meal at more than 60 different restaurants in the metro
"We have a choice of salad to start. And then for entrees we have our New York strip or a filet mignon," said Wallace.
At 801 Chophouse, diners can get a 3 course meal for about $50, which is $30 cheaper than you pay on any other day. Wallace says that doesn't include any alcohol.
If you want a cheaper dinner date, you can try Blue Sushi Sake Grill. It offers a $20 or $30 full course meal
"We do recognize a few friendly faces. We hope to see them again this year," said Wallace.
Every restaurant will donate part of its sales to the Food Bank for the Heartland.
"We love that we are able to give back a little bit to the community," said Wallace.
This is the 6th year for the event. These deals will last until Sunday September 25th.
