UPDATE: Investigation revealed that the driver of the crash was Jonathon Guzman-Cruz, 20. On Friday, he was cited for DUI and willful reckless driving.

Original coverage:

Omaha police are now looking into a crash that sent three to the hospital early Sunday morning.

It happened at around 12:30 a.m. near 16th Street and Spring Lake Drive.

Police say a Ford Expedition was going south on 16th Street when the driver lost control of the car, causing it to leave the roadway and flip over multiple times.

Witnesses told police they saw a man and woman running away from the scene.

Jonathon Guzman-Cruz, 20, and Derrik Trautman, 15, were found lying on the ground after being ejected from the car.

Guzman-Cruz is being treated for loss of consciousness, and Trautman is being treated for broken ribs. Both are expected to be OK.

About an hour later, officers were called to a home near 24th and U streets for a report of an injured male.

They learned that Richard Beers Cruz, 18, was one of the people who ran away from the crash scene.

He was taken to Nebraska Medicine to be treated for a possible back injury and is expected to be OK.

Investigators are still looking for the woman who left the accident. She has not been identified.

Police say alcohol and speed appear to be contributing factors in this crash, which remains under investigation.
