Donations being accepted for displaced families

After more than 500 people were removed from the Yale Apartments last week, people can now donate items to help them.

Omaha Mayor Jean Stothert posted on social media about how and where to make donations.

Here is a list of accepted items:

Diapers (size 4, 5 and 6 as well as pul-ups)

    Storage totes with lids

    Metal trash cans with lids

    Jackets of all sizes

These items can all be donated at Adams Park Community Center at 3230 John A Creighton Blvd.

Bigger items can be donated by calling Heartland Family Services at (402) 553-3000.

New or gently used clothing and furniture can also be donated through Mission Church at 3401 Patrick Avenue or other non-profits including St Vincent de Paul, Open Door Mission and Heart Ministry Center.
