Omaha roads were not treated before the storm, but city officials say 60 city trucks went out to treat main and secondary roads around 5:15 just as the storm starts.
But conditions were still slick for the morning commute: Cars slid out and got stuck in ditches.
Semi-trucks jackknifed on the interstates.
Roads backed up.
Some reported morning commutes taking three times longer than normal.
All while roads and law enforcement officials begged people to just slow down and stay safe.
Fox 42 News is working to find out why the city decided not to pre-treat. We will update this article with information when it comes in. Send your pictures of any crashes, snow, or other things you spot around town to email@example.com
