Kids from a homeless shelter are going shopping with Omaha Police

The evening of Dec. 6, the Omaha Police will take 50 children Christmas shopping.

The children will arrive at the Omaha Police Officers' Association to be paired up with officers in cruisers.

The Omaha Police Officers' Association says this event is a great way for children to have a positive interaction with police and choose some gifts for themselves and their families.

After shopping, everyone will return to the Police Officers' Association Hall for dinner and a party with Santa.

The Omaha POA worked with their sponsoring partner, Walmart at South 72nd Street and North 99th Street in Omaha.
