Local elementary school receives surprise donation
CARTER LAKE, Iowa —
One Iowa school received a donation Monday to help with school supplies.
The Omaha Box Company donated $4,000 to Carter Lake Elementary school.
The money will be divided among the school's classrooms.
The school says teachers buy supplies for their classrooms out of their own pockets most of the time.
Teachers will be able to use the money for "Peace Corners."
School Principal Doreen Knuth said, "The Peace Corner will help children by giving them a spot in the classroom to cool down and collect their thoughts and within that Peace Corner there are different tools that the students can use to help them."
The Carter Lake administration says this donation was also fro Teacher Appreciation Week.
