OMAHA, Neb. (FOX 42 KPTM) — Local law office, Hauptman O'Brien Wolf & Lathrop. P.C. is offering a program for those out celebrating to get home safely.
The program was started in 1990 and according to their website it has provided more than 65,000 rides.
The program is only available to people in Douglas and Sarpy Counties.
Here's how it works:
If you have a smartphone you can downlad the zTrip app.
Once you create a profile, enter the promo code SAFE. Anyone with a profile already can still use the promo code.
For the ride to be free you must enter the code before you book the ride.
If you don't have a smart phone you can call 402-215-0167.
Just tell the dispatcher you want the Hauptman O'Brien SAFE RIDE HOME.
Be sure to mention the promo code, SAFE, or it won't be free.
There are rules for the program to keep in mind.
Rides are available from Dec. 7th through New Year's Eve, Hours: 8 pm- 3 am
You will be taken home or to a hotel, not to another event or bar.
Only one free ride is allowed per night.
The promo code SAFE must be used or the ride won't be free. When you get picked up be sure to tell the driver you are taking a free Hauptman O'Brien SAFE RIDE HOME.
Hauptman O'Brien Wolf & Lathrop. P.C. has also partnered with the Women's Center for Advancement, WCA, to provide free rides to victims of domestic or sexual violence.
Those rides are available by calling WCA's 24 hour hotline at 402-345-7273 or 402-672-7118 for Spanish.
