Man hospitalized after veering off I-29, driving into ditch, crashing through fence

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa — One person was sent to the hospital when his car veered off I-29 Thursday.

The car drove into a ditch, crashed through a fence, and came to rest near the entrance to the SIRE ethanol plant near 189th Street.

Iowa state patrol told FOX 42 it believes it was a medical issue that caused the accident and that drugs and alcohol did not play a role.
