Police are looking for the man they say tried to rob a bank early Thursday evening.

At around 4:40, officers were called to the Bank of the West near 24th and L streets.

There, witnesses told police a man entered and demanded cash from the security officer.

The security officer then yelled at the man to leave.

As the man left, police say he grabbed the area of his own waistband.

However, witnesses told police they did not see a gun as the man left.

He then drove off in a 2007 Blue Dodge Caliber, which had another man in the passenger seat.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact Omaha Crime Stoppers at 444-STOP, at or on the P3 Tips mobile app.
