Marathon for mental health
Dr. Adel Korkor has practiced medicine for nearly 30 years.
He has suffered from mental health issues for much of his life. Twenty five years ago he suffered a severe panic attack and was hospitalized.
Part of his recovery was running.
After his attack he decided to start the 5x 50 50 Foundation.
He along with many others run a 5K marathon in every U.S. state in 50 days.
The foundation brings awareness to the lack of mental health care and shows support to those who are suffering.
Dr. Korkor said with each marathon, more and more people come out.
Some share their stories while others just stand in solidarity to those suffering.
The foundation has gone to 20 states so far.
Friday they head to Des Moines, Iowa.
