DODGE COUNTY, Neb (FOX 42 KPTM) -- A woman and her three children were killed in a crash Saturday evening.
Dodge County Sheriff Steven Hespen says the woman and one of her children in the backseat were not wearing seatbelts.
Deputies say a 16-year-old-boy was in a Ford Mustang on Highway 30 about a half mile west of Fremont.
They say he was waiting to turn left into the Westlake Mobile Home Park.
Deputies say German Lopez Saenz, 33, rear ended the teen in a Dodge Ram.
This sent the truck into the oncoming traffic lanes where deputies say it crashed head on with the Ford Taurus the woman from Schuyler was driving.
Deputies say her children were 7, 8, and 10 years old. The woman was 32. Deputies say they all died at the scene of the crash.
The sheriff says he is not releasing the woman's name until he is certain her family is notified.
German Lopez Saenz was taken to Methodist Fremont Health and later transferred to Nebraska Medicine.
Deputies say he was wearing a seatbelt.
The teen had two teen boys in the vehicle with him. All three of them were taken to Methodist. Deputies say there is no word on whether the three of them were wearing seat belts at the time.
Alcohol is not thought to be a cause in the crash.
A Go Fund Me campaign created by Joycelyn Perez, to cover funeral costs for the family of four has raised over $7,000 in a few hours. The creator of the Go Fund Me says the mother was pregnant with her first girl, and was due in one month.
