Nebraska Fire Marshals: Weekend explosion was arson


    Nebraska Fire Marshals say someone tampered with the natural gas system within a laundry mat. They say that lead to an explosion over the weekend at the building.

    The Wardrobe Spa near 168th and Harrison went up in flames Sunday. People nearby reported hearing a loud boom. Fire could be seen shooting in the air.

    The marshals say they've ruled it an arson.

    Alyssa Sanders, Deputy State Fire Marshal, says the tampering investigators found within the gas system was not caused by the Metropolitan Utilities District, the utility operator for the building.

    No one has been arrested in connection to t he arson.

    Marshals say the total damage to the building is about $350,000.

    No one was hurt.
