Omaha Mayor's office: Residential snow plow contractors canceled
OMAHA, Neb (FOX 42 KPTM) —
The Omaha mayor's chief of staff says the city has canceled plans to bring in residential contractors to help clear side streets in the city.
Carrie Murphy says the snow ended earlier than expected and did not accumulate as much as they had thought.
She says city crews will still be spreading salt on trouble spots around town including hills and stopping areas in neighborhoods throughout the day.
According to Murphy, 60 city trucks started treating major and secondary streets around 5:15 a.m. as the snow started coming down.
