Omaha North graduate and Olympic hopeful inspires others to follow dreams
OMAHA, Neb. —
A four-time Nebraska state champion in track is now training to try and make the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.
The Omaha native spoke with young women athletes at her old high school today.
Brianna McGhee ran track at Omaha North, and she says it's all about giving back to the place and the people who helped make her who she is today.
She spoke with young women about how to set goals and follow their dreams starting with themselves.
McGhee said, "Just to believe in themselves. It's kind of hard at this age. You don't really set goals or think about that stuff, and I realized the great athletes start that stuff early."
She will know around this time next year if she will make it to the Olympics.
