Omaha Police gun amnesty day brings in guns, some surprises


The Omaha Police Department Firearms Squad and Eagle's Nest Worship Center's gun amnesty day ended with a large number of guns and other items turned over.

The items that were turned in on Saturday are:

• 35 handguns, one was defaced

• 40 long guns, three illegal

• Around 1,500 pounds of ammunition

• 2 hand grenades and a land mine

• Gun powder

• Various pellet and BB air guns
