OMAHA, Neb. (FOX 42 KPTM) -- UPDATE 8:24 pm: Omaha Police say both students who were taken to the hospital are out of surgery and are expected to be okay.
They say an on duty resource officer found the two students after the fight.
They say the teen boy stabbed the other student and then cut himself.
UPDATE: The principal of Burke High School has released a statement.
Police have confirmed a student was stabbed at Burke High School Tuesday afternoon.
Omaha Public School Officials have the school on lockdown right now.
Dispatch tells Fox 42 News that two students were hurt and taken to Bergan Mercy with serious injuries.
Omaha police say they'll be releasing students soon to their usual buses.
A police representative says a boy and a girl were injured in the stabbing, but he says he does not know which student started the attack.
They say a knife was recovered from the scene and that there were no other weapons.
Officer Phil Anson says the fight started in the basement of the school around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. He says teachers and a school resource officer were able to stop the fight quickly.
Anson says the students were taken to Bergan Mercy in critical condition.
