Police: thieves broke into home through laundry room wall

LINCOLN, Neb (FOX 42 KPTM)-- A woman woke up to strangers in her home Monday and police say they didn't come through any doors or windows.

Instead, investigators think they broke through the wall of the woman's apartment through the community laundry room.

Police say the woman woke up just after 9 in the morning Monday to scratching sounds in her Lincoln apartment.

Then, they say she heard voices inside.

When she went to check, police say she found three people in her bedroom doorway.

The woman scared the strangers off. Officers say they ran out the back door.

Investigators found a human sized hole in the drywall coming from the laundry room into the woman's apartment.

Officers say they found Holly Rumery, 35, hiding nearby. She was booked on a criminal trespass charge.
