Tech event aims to educate and inspire women
Women leaders in the technology field spoke Friday.
The goal was to encourage other women to get into this line of work.
It was a packed room at the First National Bank Building downtown.
Johanna Epp said, "I could see myself having a career in the technology field some day and I'd like there to be more women there."
First National Technology Solutions (FNTS) held the meeting, which included gifts and boxed lunches.
Kim Whittaker of FNTS said, "This is something I'm very passionate about. I just think it's really important for girls to know what opportunities exist."
According to statistics, 40 percent of the world's workforce is made up of women.
