Three people hurt in crash on 39th and Ames

OMAHA, Neb (FOX 42 KPTM)-- Police are looking into a crash in North Omaha from Monday evening that left three people hurt, including a person in a wheelchair.

Officers say a Dodge mini-van was heading east on Ames just before 5 p.m. when a Nissan utility van tried to turn from Ames onto 39th Street.

The Dodge hit the Nissan.

Three people inside the mini-van were taken to Nebraska Medicine:

Farah Diriye, 28, was driving and cut his head.

Terri Edwards, 73, was in the middle row and may have broken his hand.

Bonnie Edwards, 70, was in rear seat and fractured her face.

Police say Steve Knisley, 71, was driving the work van and refused to be taken to the hospital. Police cited him for failure to yield.
