Steve joined the Fox 42 News Team in December 2016. He comes to us from FiOS1 News in Westchester County, New York. He also anchored the news on WTIC NewsTalk 1080 in Hartford, Connecticut.

Steve was born and raised 1,400 miles away, in Connecticut, but he's excited to call Omaha his adopted home city!

Back east, he's covered New York political rallies for Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders. He also covered some high profile stories including the opening of the new Sandy Hook Elementary School, the Lacey Spears case, and the deadly Valhalla train crash in 2015.

He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Connecticut. Steve continued his education at Quinnipiac University, earning a Master of Science degree from the School of Communications.

He also did broadcast journalism internships at both NBC Connecticut in West Hartford, and WTIC NewsTalk 1080 in Hartford.

When Steve is not reporting the news, he loves taking long walks with no set destination. He also enjoys catching up with friends, cracking jokes, new technology, skiing, ice skating and roller blading. Steve loves sitting at the beach, but it must be in a chair because he hates getting sandy. One of his favorite vacation spots is Pemaquid Point, Maine, where he's been going since he was born.

His favorite foods are fattening, but oh so delicious: juicy burgers, pizza, ice cream, chocolate and cheese cake. You will never catch him eating anything that comes from the sea.

Steve's on social media and he'd love to hear from you! Just say hello, or if you have a story idea, he always welcomes those too! Tweet, snapchat or instagram him at @stevesaun. You can also shoot him an email at
